Poster and Oral Paper Guidelines

Abstract Submission

  1. The abstract must provide an informative summary of the research work.

  2. Each participant can submit only one abstract.

  3. The paper should not have been presented at any other conference or not been published in any journal.

  4. The participants can present original research, systematic reviews, metanalysis, case reports or series.

  5. Originality, plagiarism, copyright: It is the responsibility of the authors to ensure the originality of the research, as well as the abstract and posters.

  6. It is also the author’s responsibility to ensure appropriate ethical/regulatory approval is taken wherever applicable.

  7. Only the delegates registered/registering for the main conference can submit abstracts.

  8. All presentations will be online only.

  9. Acceptance of an abstract is solely at the discretion of the Scientific Committee. The acceptance and mode of presentation will be informed by email.

  10. Accepted abstracts will be included in the souvenir of the conference.

  11. Top five best oral and poster presentations will be allowed podium presentations onsite.

  12.  The jury’s decision is final and best three will be awarded.

  13. The abstract for the poster should be structured with the following details (Maximum word limit of 300) Case Series and Original Studies: Introduction, Methods, Observation, Discussion and Conclusion.Case Report: Introduction, History, Detailed workup, and Discussion. The abstract for the paper should be structured with the following details (Maximum word limit of 350)Only original research: Title of the paper, Introduction, Methods, Observation, Discussion and Conclusion.

  14. Name the abstract as Your Name_oral or poster (eg: Nila_oral OR Nila_poster).

  15. Only word files can be uploaded. The abstract should be typed in Times new roman 12. Only title to be in bold . 

  16. Underline the name of the presenting author.

  17. TNPC-IAPM Membership is mandatory (Click here to Register with TNPC-IAPM)

  18. Any Topic in Pathology can be presented.

E- Poster Presentation Guidelines ( UG's, PG's & Faculty)

  1. All posters should be a visual presentation of your submitted abstract.

  2. The E-poster will be displayed on standard 42”/50” (Diagonal) LCD. File format should be PowerPoint (PPT) in Size of 16:9.

  3.  Please prepare a poster in a single-slide PPTX/PDF file as per the sample e-poster available for download at Sample_E-Poster.pptx

  4.  Choose Arial or a font that can be read clearly at a distance. Put light-colored fonts on dark backgrounds or vice versa so that viewers can see the text clearly.

  5.  Tables should be simple and easy to follow. Minimum font size for data in tables is 10 points.

  6.  The legend of a figure should appear below the figure.

  7.  Do not insert or embed any videos in your presentation.

  8.  Remember, overcrowding a poster slide makes it difficult to read. Help your readers by providing clear labels or headings for each section of your presentation.

  9.  Please include 2-3 pertinent references at most.

  10.  Please ensure that you have the permission to use any images you include in the e-poster. This includes a license for copyrighted materials and consent forms from patients who are recognizable in photographs or images.

  11.  Financial interest, if any, must be disclosed and included in the poster.

  12. TNPC-IAPM Membership is mandatory (Click here to Register with TNPC-IAPM) for Poster/Oral Presentation (Excluding UG's).

  13. Any Topic in Pathology can be presented.

Oral Presentation Guidelines

  1. The oral presentation (PG's & Faculty) should be prepared & sent as a Microsoft PowerPoint (.ppt) using a 4:3 standard slide setting.

  2. The presentation should be for 6 minutes and 2 minutes for Q&A.

  3. Font type: Arial

  4. In the first slide mention the title followed by names and affiliations of contributors.

  5. The number of slides should not be more than 10 (including references) and the presentation must be concluded within 6 minutes.

  6. The participant should be present at the venue during the allotted time; failure to do so will lead to disqualification (the venue and time slot will be intimated at the earliest).

  7. Send final PPT to email: tapcon2024@psgimsr.ac.in  and name the file as: “Full Name_Oral” . Mention the subject of the email as oral presentation.

  9. Any Topic in Pathology can be presented.
